June 20 : Joule Hotel Addition

Come experience the soft opening of The Joule Hotel and it’s beautiful addition and renovations. One of my favorite hotels in Dallas. The architecture is fun, hip, and creative. They finally got rid of the artificial scented air so you can breathe. The owner, Tim Headington, was fortunate enough to purchase rare period mosaics and has installed them in the Taschen Library. This alone is worth a trip to experience the new Joule hotel. Now if they just relocate the mechanical gears they will fix the chi in the lobby and complete this beautiful gift to the Dallas hotel scene.

Set in a 1920s Neo-Gothic Downtown building and next door to the flagship Neiman Marcus, this designer boutique makes a splash with its hip rooftop lounge and glass-bottomed pool.

The Joule Hotel is undergoing a major expansion, which includes adding retail shops as well as new restaurants. The hotel lobby’s artisan coffee bar, Weekend Coffee, opened Wednesday and is accessible from the recently-constructed entrance off Commerce Street in downtown Dallas.

They are also adding a new upscale boutique called the Taschen Library. This gorgeous store is designed for you to flip through and enjoy – and buy the coffee table books Taschen is famous for. This a slice of heaven.
