The Mockingbird Point Off-Leash Dog Park, located on the shores of White Rock Lake, is a wonderful place for singles, couples and families looking to enjoy nature and let their dogs socialize. Ladies, I hear this is the place to meet your future husband.
The Mockingbird Point Off-Leash Dog Park was formally opened to the public on Friday, June 8, 2001 in a ceremony featuring Texas Rangers baseball legend Nolan Ryan, although lake goers and their four-legged friends were allowed to use the facility a full week prior to that date.
Today, the Dallas Dog Park improvements are jointly accomplished through the Bond that was passed in 2006 and to volunteer time and donations. On January 8th, 2014, $900,000 in Dog Park improvements were passed with a unanimous vote by City Council. Keep an eye out for updates such as: increased park size, addtional entrys from Hike and Bike trails, Drinking Fountains, Benches, and the new Dog Launch Water Area.
