The Intern

The perfect Date Night Film!!!

This movie caught me off guard. A friend recommended I go see this because shared it was, in his opinion, the BEST film of the year. As a film lover I put it on my list and finally made the time to go. WOW. I have to agree!!!!

I love Nancy Meyers. Her attention to detail is phenomenal. Her writing is brilliant and this film is truly endearing and uplifting. A fun watch and very timely. Quite a few of my clients over the years have made this decision. Woman stays in the workplace and husband becomes MR MOM … stays home to raise the kids. In fact, I’ve always thought about having an afternoon beer fest for all the Lakewood neighborhood stay at home Dads.

A beautiful story with amazing acting and profound insights. Pay attention to the scene in the bar when Jules explains “girls becoming women and boys still being boys”. What happened? Where are all the men???!!!An interesting contemplation on where we are in a society of the new Feminine and the new masculine!

Starting a new job can be a difficult challenge, especially if you’re already retired. Looking to get back into the game, 70-year-old widower Ben Whittaker (Robert De Niro) seizes the opportunity to become a senior intern at an online fashion site. Ben soon becomes popular with his younger co-workers, including Jules Ostin (Anne Hathaway), the boss and founder of the company. Whittaker’s charm, wisdom and sense of humor help him develop a special bond and growing friendship with Jules.
