This is a really good article and a fresh perspective. Very timely with the big ELECTION only a year away.
I’m not a big lover of Facebook, never the less, from my worldly travels everyone I meet would ask if I’m on Facebook so we could stay connected. I finally gave in and have become even a little addictive. Since then it’s remarkable to read all the worldly posts I receive.
While participating in the Transformational Eurogate last weekend, a workshop/retreat on Lake Como, I came upon this article from a connection I made on one of my trips to Dubai last year for the opening of the new Sotheby’s Dubai office.
One of the fascinating experiences I have in these workshops … besides all the Light, Love and Grace I experience, is all the different perspectives and conversations from around the world and especially Europe about our US political environment. I read once that less than 20% of US Citizens have passports. We really do not have any idea all the projection we put out on the world. Maybe it’s true that as a nation we have become way to Co-Dependent of a country, trying to fix the world, as we sort of fall apart. I wonder if we would focus, individually, as well as the elected Government officials collectively on the Sacred Virtues … and less on religion, where we would be as a people and how would our Politicians conduct themselves? What could we really achieve, genuinely? Wisdom? Could we then reunite as people, A “ONE” United States Of America?
This upcoming election or should I say reality show, is quite amusing and distracting at the same time. Could Donald Trump really be our next President? Is this all a big distraction as the Republicans regroup? Have the Democrats put all their eggs in one basket so to speak in Hillary Clinton? Who are the young, the up-and- rising Democrats? Who are they???
Growing up in my Irish Catholic family my Mom was a Democrat and my Father was a Republican. Hence forth, my claim to the Independent Party!!! As a child, it was a unique education listening to them debate, going back and forth trying to sway the other at every campaign season and then in the end, canceling each other’s vote at the actual Election. What I took from this was that even as a child, I felt they were both wanting the same results in our government. Freedom, Safety, Integrity in our Government system and in Capitalism, Separation of Church and State and Peace with the fair Opportunity for prosperity for everyone and most importantly … No more Wars!
I am writing this piece on the Train from Lake Como, Italy on my way to Lugano, Switzerland to see my friend from NYC, Shannon, who married a Swiss Italian. I also check in with my assistant and my real estate clients with the new technology, Yes I can sell real estate from anywhere in the world. I contemplate my time in the retreat and my yesterday, which I spent playing hooky with a group of beautiful Swedes. Once again, the conversation with the Swedes came to the crazy American Politics, Ronald Reagan and that the Europeans never would have thought an Actor would be President. We all know how that played out. So TRUMP, time will tell.
