September 8 : Dallas Cowboys Season Kickoff

Cowboys-new-stadium

The 2013 Dallas Cowboys Season kicks off this Sunday with the Cowboys versus the Giants.

Well…Gerry sold out!!! Surprise, surprise. Of course, I will always call this Cowboy Stadium. It’s one of my favorite architectural additions to our City. The stadium reminds me of a spaceship which has landed right here in the Metroplex. There was some controversy around the location. Jerry didn’t ask me, but if he did, I would of build the stadium where the old Texas Stadium was located. Much like Tampa did for the Buccaneers. For this 12th wonder of the world deserves its own glory. I am told that the artwork in this stadium cost more than the original stadium…Go Mrs. Gene Jones!

In late July, Jerry Jones signed a deal renaming the stadium to the AT&T Stadium. Team officials declined to reveal terms of the deal, including cost and how many years are included. Marc Ganis, a sports consultant with SportsCorp Ltd. in Chicago, estimated the deal could be worth as much as $20 million annually for 20 to 30 years, or from $400 million to $600 million.
