June 11 : Shakespeare in the Park

unnamed

Mark you calendars for this summers premiere and delightful outdoor event for the entire family.

Inspired by the egalitarian nature of the New York Shakespeare Festival, Robert “Bob” Glenn started The Shakespeare Festival of Dallas in 1971. The company serves the community as one of North Texas’ most treasured cultural institutions and the area’s only producer of an education program focused on teaching Shakespeare.

Shakespeare Dallas’ Summer 2014 season features Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing and Tartuffe. There’s something quaint and elegant about seeing Shakespeare Dallas’ summer shows on the grassy lawn of the outdoor amphitheater at the beautiful Tenison Park on the south side of historic Lakewood in Old East Dallas. Bring picnic foods, blankets and pillows for lawn seating. Some chairs are available under the canopy as well.

When: Opening June 11
Where: Samuell Grand Amphitheatre Dallas, TX
Cost: $10
