Did you watch the Presidential Debate?
Monday was a crazy day. I was so anxious and basically a jerk in my office. For this was the day of the first big Presidential debate. It was coming close to the time of the big show and I was still going back and forth in my mind whether to watch or not. To support or boycott. To be a rating of this reality circus or go drink wine with friends. I decided to meditate.
I realized I wasn’t doing my mediation practice on a regular schedule. Lots of pretexts, busy Fall market, Netflix, the gym etc. The mind and its excuses.
I sat at my alter, lit a candle and formed a prayer in my heart and set my vision for this Election. Joy, Peace Wisdom and Respect for ALL our leaders here and abroad.
Simple enough. I like to chant before I meditate. It settles my mind and helps me glide deeper into my core being. Then there it was. The eternal peace, the supreme joy and the wisdom of the divine came through. After a while my mind settled and before I knew it…90 minutes of complete bliss.
I was able to drop all my anxiety around these times and see, feel, and witness the way I want to be, the way I see this country to be, for all parties and all peoples.
Peaceful. Successful. Powerful. Abundant & Prosperous.
Humble. Compassionate. Wise.
Respect for Everyone and Everything!
The power of meditation. I learned in a retreat that Attention follows Intention. The debate with the mind. The wisdom of the heart. Meditation, the simple medicine for the world. Try It. Google it. There are so many methods and styles. Find the one that resonates best with you. And remember, Meditation is a practice. 2 minutes can lead to 5 minutes that can lead to 10 minutes. Do not judge your experience. That’s the debate with your mind. Just be, follow your breath, and have fun.
Attention and Intention.
