Pianist : Perren-Luc Thiessen

On Tuesday, April 24th at 7:00 p.m., you are invited to hear Perren-Luc Thiessen, 15-year old pianist from McKinney, as he prepares to travel to Moscow to compete in theGrand Piano Competition.

Perren-Luc Thiessen is a 15-year-old pianist from Texas, and studies with Dr. Tamas Ungar and Dr. Mary Humm. He made his Orchestral Debut at 12 in Italy with the Todi International Music Masters Festival, and has appeared with the Padereweski Piano Academy, Round Rock Symphony, and Fort Worth Civic Symphony Orchestras. He was invited to perform with orchestra in Moscow after winning the 2017 American Fine Arts International Concerto Competition. In addition to the Paderewski Piano Academy and T.I.M.M., he participates in the Semper International Music Festival in Schlern Italy, the International Piano Master Classes in Katowice Poland, and in 2017 was the youngest participant in the elite Young Artist Program at Piano Texas. He has had private lessons and performed in Master Classes with Balazs Szokolay, Berndt Goetzke, Stanislav Ioudenitch, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Alexander Korsantia, Natarzyna Popowa-Zydron, Fabio Bidini, and Andraz Jasinski.

Most recently, Perren-Luc was one of only Fifteen Finalists, and the only American, to be chosen from a worldwide field of 100 applicants to compete in the prestigious Grand Piano Competition in Moscow April 29 -May 15, 2018. This competition, headed by International Tchaikovsky Competition Winner Denis Matsuev, is the biggest stage for International Junior Competitions and will be streamed live on Medici TV. He will be performing his solo round in the beautiful Rachmaninoff Hall, and performing the Mozart Concerto K 491 with the Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra in the Tchaikovsky Great Concert Hall, the same hall which hosts the International Tchaikovsky Competition.
