Restaurant : Beverley’s

Earlier this year, the chic new Fitzhugh Avenue eatery Beverley’s opened its doors, and it’s a beauty. The owner, Greg Katz’s own background has clearly influenced the menu quite a bit, with appearances from classic dishes like chicken schnitzel, caviar & latkes, and matzo ball soup popping up. On the still-developing menu, diners can expect to see seafood, steak, handmade pasta and lots of sharable appetizers. At the bar, Dallas cocktail star Ravinder Singh, whose background includes stints at Macellaio, Uchiba and Jalisco Norte, is slinging cocktails.

The décor inside Beverley’s is classic, with bistro tables, a long marble bar that runs across one side, and mulberry leather banquette seating wrapped around the rest of the dining room. Shiny gold fixtures stand out against black wood and light marble. There’s a long side patio that Katz plans to cover in greenery to create a lush oasis of sorts. Katz also designed the space to house a more secluded dining room in the back for private parties with its own separate bar and entrance. It’s the realization of a dream for Katz, who named the restaurant after his mother.

Beverley’s is a lively, everyday neighborhood bistro serving American fare. It’s a place where the community congregates for great food and cocktails — and like the setting, the seasonal cuisine is approachable and features seafood, locally-sourced produce and steaks from the grill.
