Herb’s House Coffee + Company recently opened in the old Union Coffee House location on Dyer Street by SMU.

In a city full of coffee shops, what sets Herb’s apart from any other cafe? This is not just a place for coffee. This is a place for great company. Whether you are meeting with friends, working with colleagues, or just there to enjoy a great cup of coffee, this is the place for you. Herb’s House was created with people as it’s focal point with craft coffee, tea, and food to nourish. The most unique aspect about Herb’s is the meeting rooms that are available to rent. The three meeting rooms all have large conference tables, whiteboards, 65″ TVs for presentations, and comfy couches for collaborative working. These rooms are separated from the main area by glass walls, so if you need a private area to present sensitive material or protect trade secrets these rooms probably aren’t for you. A printer is available in the common area.

The main space is spacious with a clean, modern design. There are lots of tables of various sizes, mostly standard height, but also a few bar height tables too. There is also an outdoor seating area with a fireplace. The music (lite pop; think Buble/Bareilles/Mraz) is fairly quiet, which makes it easier to focus on work. Most patrons were working on laptops and wall outlets seem plentiful for those whose devices run out of juice. Wifi is free and does not require a password.
