The debut of Uchi in Dallas is easily one of the biggest restaurant moments of the year. The Japanese restaurant got its start in Austin, expanded to Houston and opened in Dallas on June 1. Let the reservation line begin. The good news that the restaurant has a special patio wait area that serves complimentary Hors d’oeuvre that change daily.

Uchi is a contemporary Japanese sushi restaurant originally located in Austin, Texas which opened in 2003. The Japanese word “Uchi” translates to “house” in English, and the quaint spaces are typically refurbished homes. Owner and chef Tyson Cole’s menu consists of hot and cool tastings, sushi and sashimi, makimono, yakimono and tempura, and a changing omakase based on seasonal items. In 2011, Cole won the “Best Chef, Southwest” award from the James Beard Foundation.
