The Blessings Of Liberty!
I love to travel and my favorite possession is my USA Passport. I love my country.
Last night I was at a natural hot springs soaking and listened in on a conversation. A beautiful young couple just returned from 2 years of studying in London obtaining their Masters Degrees. They did it all on student loans. They loved this experience and even though now they have to pay them back, they are grateful and even acknowledged the low interest rates.
What was interesting was their experience of what being an American means and how they were treated as Americans and how Americans are perceived around the world. With less the 30% of US citizens having passports, we really don’t have any idea what we project on the world. The good news is that we are not known as the “Rude Americans” anymore, the Chinese have now won that title! LOL
With EVERYTHING going on around the world and with all the talk this week, I decided to obtain my own copy of our United States Constitution.
So… Who are we as a people? What kind of people are we? How does the world perceive us and most importantly… How do we perceive ourselves? Are we a “One People”?
The United States Constitution is the supreme law of the United States of America. The Constitution, originally comprising seven articles, delineates the national frame of government. Its first three articles entrench the doctrine of the separation of powers, whereby the federal government is divided into three branches: the legislative, consisting of the bicameral Congress; the executive, consisting of the President; and the judicial, consisting of the Supreme Court and other federal courts. Articles Four, Five and Six Entrenched concepts of federalism, describing the rights and responsibilities of state governments and of the states in relationship to the federal government. Article Seven Establishes the procedure subsequently used by the thirteen States to ratify it.
