Video : Venus Kisses the Sun

The rarest predictable solar event, the transit of Venus across the face of the Sun, occurred yesterday, June 5, 2012. Happening in pairs eight years apart, the event is separated by 105 or 121 years. 2004 saw the last transit, and this rare event will not occur again until 2117, making this event the last for mankind today to witness. This amazing video was constructed from several wavelengths of extreme ultraviolet light and a portion of the visible spectrum. If you didn’t get a chance to see it, take a look at this incredible video, documenting Venus crossing the Sun.
