September 20 – October 20 : Freud’s Last Session

C.S. Lewis meets Freud in the intelligent and clever production, Freud’s Last Session, the longest running Off-Broadway show. Although Sigmund Freud and C.S. Lewis never actually met, it is interesting to imagine the interaction between the atheist and Christian. Playwright Mark St. Germain creates the scene of an intense debate from the very different perspectives of two prominent historical figures with different religious backgrounds. The play is set in one day, depicting Freud, dying of cancer at 83, inviting Lewis to his study. This invitation leads to a heated debate on topics ranging from sex and love to God to the meaning of life.
