The Lakewood Home Festival began in 1976 when the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA staged a tour showcasing five distinctive and historic neighborhood homes as a fundraiser to purchase playground equipment for kindergarten children. Last year we exceeded fundraising expectations for Lakewood Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, and Woodrow Wilson High School. It has evolved into a series of fantastic events and activities listed below:

Auction Party – The Auction Party is ‘the’ social kick-off party of the Home Tour! Party-goers dress up according to the theme and have a blast dancing, betting on casino games and bidding on auction items – this year’s theme is “Lights, Camera, Lakewood”, Hollywood at its best!

Home Tour – The Home Tour features distinctive Lakewood-area homes. The tour celebrates diverse designs, styles and architectures, lending to the charm and character of this treasured East Dallas neighborhood, which has earned its place in Dallas history.

Candlelight Home Tour – The Candlelight Home Tour is an intimate event on Saturday night to view the Home Tour homes. Visitors have the opportunity to mingle with homeowners on Saturday night.
