Chinese New Year Celebration @ Crow Collection of Asian Art

The new moon of February is a festival marking the start of the Chinese New Year. This is a powerful time of year in the Chinese culture as the Year of the Horse ends and we now welcome the Year of the Sheep. In Chinese Astrology, The Sheep is the Eighth Sign of the Chinese Zodiac, which consists of 12 Animal Signs. Eight in Chinese is an auspicious number, symbolizing prosperity.

The Sheep is a Yin energy, a symbol of Peace, Harmonious co-existence and Tranquility. This will be a year of banding together, finding your tribe and coming together with your spiritual family as often as you can for support, strength and nurturing. 2015 is also a year to come together on a deeper level with the unseen world. For those who trust in the power our thoughts have over our reality they will be rewarded with blessings from mysterious realms.

Celebrate the Year of the Ram at the 16th annual Chinese New Year Celebration in The Dallas Arts District. Highlights include traditional Chinese New Year art-making activities such as decorating red envelopes, and making sheep headbands and glowing paper lanterns, plus calligraphy demonstrations, face painting, fortune telling, photo booth and family yoga. Also, there will be a diverse assortment of food trucks including Bobaddiction, Bombay Chopstick, Simply Dosa, and Nammi, and for the second year in a row, there will be an exclusive VIP hospitality lounge available for members of the Friends of the Crow Collection.
