Jimmy Choo – Be Glamorous, Be Generous

choo

Funny story.

A few years ago I met an actress friend from LA at Highland Park Village for dinner. We arrived in the parking lot at the same time, hugged and I asked, “Where do you want to eat?”. She looked over and said oh… Jimmy Choo. I looked at her and said, “You want Chinese food”? I will never forget the look on her face, it was priceless. That’s when I learned about these beautiful, expensive and trendy women shoes. I went to Catholic Schools most of my life and honestly, I never really got into fashion. Give me a nice blue blazer, white shirt and some khakis and I’m set.

You are invited to a special evening at the Jimmy Choo store in Highland Park Village to shop AND support The Riagamba Project. How does Champagne and delectable hors d’ oeuvres while you shop at one of the world’s most famous shoe stores sound?

The Riagamba project began in 2014 and the last 3 years have been an amazing time of transformation at Riagamba. The village went from termite eaten grass huts, with some children sleeping on the ground, to beautiful brick and mortar buildings. The Church is complete so they can worship indoors away from the rain and elements. The widows in the village have housing and can better attend to the needs of the children and pursue their dreams. Pastor James and his family have a new home with an indoor kitchen, for the first time can prepare meals for the 50 plus people for whom they care on a daily basis. And new latrines were built!

Thanks to generous supporters like you, a posha mill to grind grain and electricity were added to the village in late 2016. With your support, a much needed teacher can be hired to start a primary school at the village. In addition to education, the community of Riagamba, desperately needs access to basic health care needs. In 2018, a medical mission trip to provide health care, medical training, and equipment is in the planning stages. Your support can make it possible for Riagamba and others in the region to access improved and sustainable health care so they can be a thriving community.
