Lakewood 4th of July Parade

flag

Time to plan this year’s 4th of July.

Happy Birthday America!

The theme this year is Lakewood Dreams BIG in Red, White & Blue!

This neighborhood parade has a long and rich tradition. The first parade consisted of the two Neikirk children riding their bikes for about 2 houses on the sidewalk in 1962. The idea grew from that point into a block party and parade for the families and is now one of the best neighborhood parades in the country. Line up begins at the fourth generation Theriot Home on the corner of Lakewood Blvd and Cambria. Join the entire community for beers, snow cones, and prizes following the parade at the Tokalon tennis courts.

DFW also has many other great activities planned to celebrate Independence Day. From parades to concerts to barbecues, you’re sure to get your fireworks fix this fourth. Firecrackers bring out the inner kid in all of us. I have always loved watching fireworks displays.
