Unbroken is an American war drama film produced and directed by Angelina Jolie based on the 2010 nonfiction book by Laura Hillenbrand, Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption. The film revolves around the life of Olympic athlete Louis “Louie” Zamperini as he represents America in the Berlin Olympics, survives a plane crash in the Pacific, spends 47 days drifting on a raft, and then spends more than two and a half years living in several Japanese prisoner of war camps.
I was fortunate enough to join Louis Zamperini’s grandson, Clay Zamperini, during the filming of the movie last January in Australia. This epic survival story is extraordinarily moving. I hope you are as spellbound by Louieās life as I am. Don’t miss it Christmas Day.
Clay Zamperini plans to relaunch Victory Boys Camp, a nonprofit youth outreach founded by Louis Zamperini in 1954. Victory Boys Camp focuses on inspiring disadvantaged youth to take control of their own lives by cultivating self-respect through athletics, survival skills, and wilderness experience.
