Horne & Dekker is all about comfort food. It offers up “modern comfort food” with a side of irreverance. The friendly priced menu is American with a few twists. Watermelon, pickled tomato and ricotta salata salad, seared duck breast and coconut cream pie are a few such highlights. They offer an interesting “Grape and Grub” option, which includes four courses (appetizer, salad, entree and dessert) for $38 and you can add wine pairings for $20 more.

H & D also features a signature sunday hangover brunch. The signature items include a Dallas Farmers Market Fruit Plate, H&D Granola & Lemon Yogurt served in a melon bowl; NOHA Shrimp & Grits – fresh Creole-seasoned shrimp blended with cheese grits; Ginger Snap Pancakes; Hangover Eggs served scrambled with bacon, chorizo, peppers, mozzarella & herbs served in a tortilla bowl; Lox & Bagels; and the main event, the linebacker-worthy- Double Dekker – a large pancake stacked over buttermilk biscuits and smothered in gravy, surrounded by potato hash and topped with hangover eggs and brown sugar bacon.

Shawne Horne and Flynn Dekker are affable hosts in this friendly retro-chic dining room. Horne is a name well-known to Dallas dining aficionados. He boasts a resume that reads like a who’s who of our local restaurant scene. He’s managed and consulted for the likes of Stephan Pyles, Kent Rathbun and Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck, just to name a few. H&D marks Horne’s ninth area restaurant opening. While Flynn Dekker, a native of the Midwest with a soft spot for North Texas, brings a big-business marketing background to the table.No stranger to the restaurant game as well, Dekker’s just off a gig as Chief Marketing Officer for Brazilian steak house concept Fogo de Chão.
