Considered one of the top marathons in the world, the metroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon includes a flat and fast 10-mile loop around White Rock Lake and is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. Race-day events this year are expected to draw more than 20,000 participants and more than 100,000 spectators. The primary beneficiary of the marathon is Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

The course begins and ends in Fair Park near the north end of the Cotton Bowl and runs to and around scenic White Rock Lake, with so much course entertainment that you might forget you’re running a marathon! The 26.2-mile certified course is mostly flat with some rolling hills. Along the way, runners pass through the downtown Dallas Arts District, through the hip Uptown area, along majestic Turtle Creek, through prestigious Highland Park, around White Rock Lake, through beautiful Lakewood and down the Swiss Avenue historical district back to the finish within Fair Park.

If you are a participant (on not) coming out to Fair Park on Saturday Dec 4th to pick up your race packet, be sure to bring the family to MetroPCS Fair Park Holiday, a free festival that runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Centennial Building!
